Application/Uses:	1. It offers higher corrosion resistance due to the inhibitors added to it. 2. By using this technology, the service life of concrete structures increased by several folds. 3. It does not affect the bond strength in RCC structures. 4. The chemicals to be used are available indigenously.
Salient Technical Features including Competing Features:	Properties of the coating: Thickness : 0.3 ± 0.1 mm Hardness : Rockwell superficial 40 HR 15N Bonding strength : No adverse effect. In fact the strength is improved. Behaviour under load : The coating starts cracking only when the steel begins to yield i.e., 2800 kg/cm 2 . Corrosion resistance of coated steel ; Salt spray test : > 2000 hours. Immersion in synthetic sea water: > 30 days. Immersion in 10% ammonium sulphate: >15 days. Exposure at Mandapam : 6 months. Exposure at Karaikudi : > 26 months
