Noteworthy Contributions

  • A “positively charged titanium oxide” layer formed on the surface of Ti metal by chemical and heat treatment showed high ability to bond with living bone. Thus treated porous spinal device are now in clinical trials since Nov 2008 and dental and orthopedic implants are under animal experiments.
  • Successful completion of joint project on development of dental implants in collaboration with Metal Industrial Research Development Center, Taiwan.
